BookThatApp has been around since 2012 and handles appointments, events and rentals. HyreKit does one thing: renting your products by the day. BookThatApp prices by how many bookings you take each month. HyreKit never counts your bookings.

BookThatApp's plans cap monthly bookings at 10, 50, 350 and 1,000. HyreKit has no booking cap on any plan, including the free one. A busy summer does not push you onto a bigger bill.
Refundable deposits come with HyreKit Premium. The buyer sees the bond as its own line at checkout and agrees to it. On BookThatApp, deposits and bonds start on the $49.95 Premium plan.
Pick a start and end date and HyreKit reserves every day in between, not just the first. Two customers cannot book the same unit for overlapping days, and the booking is held in the cart through checkout.
Standard tracks each unit separately and adds turnaround time between bookings for cleaning or checks. Premium adds booking extensions that bill the extra days and a per-day late-return fee.
HyreKit Companion scans QR codes when an item goes out and when it comes back. It pairs with your store through a 6-digit code and costs nothing extra.
HyreKit is a Shopify theme app extension. It finds the add-to-cart form on your product page itself, so there is no theme code to paste and nothing to redo after a theme update.
